Rome 2024’s journey within sporting events continues. From Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, on the occasion of the European Jumping Championships (Fei Jumping European Championships Milano 2023), the Roma 2024 space dedicated to athletics is open inside the “Milano GreenVillage23” set up at the San Siro Hippodrome.
Technical instructors from the Atletica Meneghina society are available to the public to discover together the different disciplines of athletics. Young and old can try their hand at activities and games and become familiar with some of the tools such as starting blocks, hurdles and the vortex, used to introduce young athletes to javelin throwing.
The Roma 2024 space at “Milan GreenVillage23” is open until Sunday, Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with free admission.
A historic victory with an epic flavor that enriches Gianmarco Tamberi’s already rich trophy case of triumphs. The Italian high jump athlete climbed to the top step of the podium by reaching 2.36 meters. This is her first outdoor medal, after winning gold in indoor in 2016 and bronze in 2022. An outstanding result that came after a real escalation in which Tamberi surpassed his entry measure (2.25 meters) on his second attempt, then went on to surpass 2.29, 2.33, and reach 2.36 meters. Tamberi’s first major victory came at the 2016 World Indoor Championships in Portland, becoming the first Italian to achieve this. Also in 2016, he triumphed at the European Championships in Amsterdam and achieved a new Italian high jump record with a measurement of 2.39 m at the Monte Carlo Meeting. In 2019 he won gold at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow and in 2021 silver at the European Indoor Championships in ToruĊ. In the same year at the Tokyo Olympics he won the gold medal and in Zurich he became the first Italian to win the Diamond League. In 2022 at the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade he won the EU bronze at the European Championships in Munich the gold.
Casa Italia, at the Ludwig Museum, an iconic structure dedicated to modern art, located a few hundred meters from the stadium, hosted an institutional meeting that featured Sebastian Coe, President World Athletics, Dobromir Karamarinov, President European Athletics, Stefano Mei President Fidal and EuroRoma 24, and Paolo Carito, General Manager of EuroRoma 24.
Among other topics discussed was the launch of the promotional campaign and ticket sales for the show scheduled to take place in Rome in a year’s time.
The national and international promotion campaign for the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships continues. After Grosseto and Molfetta, Roma 2024 will also play a starring role during the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. In fact, a dedicated corner is located at Fidal’s Casa Italia that will allow athletes and staff to be welcomed. In this way, the Roma 2024 brand will continue to consolidate and carve out an ever-expanding space of visibility. After the Budapest review, all energies and attentions will be turned to next year’s European Athletics Championships, to be held in Rome June 7-12, 2024. It will be the last stage of important stature before the Olympic Games in Paris. Meanwhile, the sale of tickets to Rome, with discounts just to coincide with the World Cup.
Six consecutive days of competition, eleven total sessions, and the chance to admire from the stands and curves of the Stadio Olimpico the best athletes on the continent. Starting today, august 17, 2023, the sale of tickets, season tickets and special packages for the European Athletics Championships to be held in Rome next summer, June 7-12, 2024, opens. Athletics fans around the world can now book a stadium seat ten months in advance to watch live the major international event that promises excitement and spectacle and will precede the start of the Paris Olympics by a month and a half.
The Roma 2024 competition program will include five morning and six evening sessions, in which it will be possible to follow live all the most anticipated finals that will also feature Italian champions: on the evening of Friday, June 7, 2024, the first medals will be awarded, starting with the women’s 20km march, which will end inside the Olympic Stadium. The June 8 program includes the highly anticipated men’s 100-meter final and the men’s long jump platform challenge. On the morning of Sunday, June 9, spectators inside the Stadio Olimpico will be able to enjoy the finish of the men’s and women’s half marathon, at the end of a route that will touch the most iconic places in Rome. On the evening of June 10 there will be room for six more finals, including a challenge between sprinters who will run the 200 meters. Within the June 11 program, medals in the men’s high jump and triple jump will be awarded. June 12 closes with ten overall finals, including the women’s long jump and the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

To make the European Athletics Championships even more accessible and engaging, there are special promotions aimed at athletics fans and families, with the possibility of purchasing tickets from the price of 5 euros and a 10 percent discount on the first five thousand coupons that will be issued during the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Tickets valid for individual sessions and different types of subscriptions can be purchased as of today.
Registration is now open for the Roma 2024 Volunteers project. Starting today, all people interested in participating in the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships in an operational role can apply as volunteers. The application form and all the information needed to join the campaign are available in the Volunteers section of the Roma 2024 website. The deadline for submitting applications is Dec. 31. As the Official HR Supplier, it will be Humangest that will manage the selection and training process of Roma 2024 volunteers and the subsequent assignment to the specific functional areas related to the organization. “We can finally call together young and young athletics enthusiasts and the entire citizenry to participate in this exciting adventure. Roma 2024 Volunteers represents a central project in the Foundation’s vision to develop the themes of sustainability, innovation and well-being.
